“I can’t kill myself oh. Allow me to flex oh” This song killed so many dreams in 2019. This song will kill many dreams for 2020.
So many people used the money they did not have simply because they bought into a misguided ideology. The sense behind this song is that you need to take a break once in a while to spoil yourself. Work will always remain but we need to take care of ourselves.
The bad part is when people begin to use it as an excuse to go gaga and make bad decisions.
You wake up in the morning and it’s time to work. But then you remember, ‘I can’t kill myself oh’ so you go right back to sleep. Bad decision.
You put aside some money for savings but things are tight and man must flex so you sing ‘I can’t kill myself oh’ and you go out flexing money you don’t have.
It’s time to write but you don’t feel like it so you say ‘I can’t kill myself oh’ and you go read a book or eat, forgetting that the persons book you are reading was actually written by the author. When will people read your own book?
If you are going to be singing this song anytime you are about to make a decision, then know your thinking is skewered at that particular point in time.
I tell my students that you will spend your lifetime earning royalties from your book. After the book is done, you can sleep all you want. So why not make the sacrifices now and then later, when you have finished working, you can gladly sing ‘I can’t kill myself oh’ to the moon and back.
