Birth and Education Profile
His natal star shined on the 15th of March 1989 in Bariga, Lagos Nigeria.
Initially he had ambitions of becoming a footballer before he discovered his gift.
He had his Primary and Secondary Education in Lagos state before proceeding to neighbouring Ogun State for his University degree at Tai Solarin University Of Education In Ijebu Ogun State Nigeria where he studied Mass Communication.
Olamide‘s debut album, Rapsodi, surfaced in 2011 with the chief single “Eni Duro”.
It topped the chart on several radio stations in Lagos. It further attracted attention and collaborations towards him. The album was released under ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes, a label imprint he was signed unto.
In 2012, he parted ways with coded tunes to float his own records with the identity “YBNL” an acronymn for Yahoo Boy No Laptop.
Furthermore, he launched his second studio album with the same name “YBNL”.
It recorded mammoth success with critical acclaim.
He would not halt at two albums as he went back into the studio, had his creative hat on and ejected more albums into the entertainment sphere.
More collaborations came in, with the likes of Phyno, Dammykrane, Davido, Samklef, Tiwa Savage et al.
That of Phyno in the sensational “Fada Fada” was one combination that proved there was no battle of supremacy in the rap game between both acts as argued by fans.
Both acts were kings in their own territories, little wonder, their came the compilation album between them titled “2Kings” in 2015 which further dissolved the rivalry solutions fans were getting tipsy of.
