Nigerian musician Dapo Oyebanjo better known as D’banj has been arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over N-Power fraud allegations.
According to reliable sources, Nigerian singer D’banj has been arrested and detained by ICPC for engaging in fraudulent activities related to the government’s empowerment scheme N-Power. It is alleged that the singer was in connivance with some government officials to perpetrate fraud.
The Kokomaster was arrested last Tuesday, after failing to voluntarily show up after several invitations by the ICPC. He was yesterday arrested in Abuja when the ICPC operatives closed in on him.
He has been accused of diverting funds for the N-Power programme. This was done with the aid of government officials as ghost beneficiaries were put on the N-Power payroll. Monies paid to these accounts were later paid to accounts linked to D’banj.
After interrogation at the ICPC office in Abuja, D’banj was denied bail and detained at the facility.
