“I don’t deal with things like that. Music is my focal point, not competition. It’s all about making good music for me & I believe that the sky can contain all of them to fly.
Year 2017 has been good for me & I am greatful to God & all my fans. I have been very busy & it has been a roller-coaster for me. I don’t take it for granted & I will always put my best into all that I do. It is about promoting Nigeria to the world in the proper light & I am glad that they now concentrate on African music. There are a lot of talents out there.”
On what instigate him visit his old neighbourhood in Surulere, Lagos, earlier in the year, he said, “I am a Surulere boy through and through. That is my identity and I’m proud of where I come from. I went back there to see my people and to show some love. I have spent most of the year travelling, so when I had the chance to socialize the people, I took it.”
The singer also declared that he was humbled by his endorsement as the Best International Act by the Music of Black Origin award in England. “I see that award as a win for Africa. It is a special and humbling one for me & my fans,” he said.
