Nigerian music star Divine Ikubor better known as Rema has been picked as Apple Music’s ‘Up Next’ artist.
Music streaming platform Apple Music has chosen ‘Beamer‘ crooner Rema as it’s featured artist in the ‘Up Next’ series.
The Mavin Records singer has witnessed about the fastest growth by any of his new school contemporaries in the past one year. The singer and rapper has made crossover hits like ‘Dumebi’, ‘Iron Man’ which made Barack Obama’s summer playlist in 2019.
As Apple Music ‘Up Next’ artist a feature documentary was made about the young artist.
Rena shared his thoughts with the Apple Music team.
“Getting recognised by Apple as their Up Next artist is a huge deal for me,” says Rema. “I want to take Afrobeats to the world and now the world is listening, it’s an honour. This has come during a time when across the world people are uniting and coming together to fight for justice. This generation, my generation, are standing up and speaking out and it’s amazing to see, I am standing right beside them.”
The singer was recently nominated as ‘Best New Act International’ by the BET.
