Veteran music sensation and rapper, Kanye West bagged a Grammys for his first gospel album “Jesus is King“.
This comes as a mega feat for Kanye considering the backdrop of the album. He once rolled as an international secular super star, won tons of awards, and made massive fortune before delving into a category no one saw coming.
It’s his 8th Grammy Award and the very first in the Gospel Category.
Kanye coasted home to victory with “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album” at the just concluded 63rd Grammy Awards held on March 14, 2021, for his gospel album which was released in October 2019.

The album was pretty much teased prior to it’s release but surmounted the hurdles with a Grammy.
Although, this is a difficult point in Kanye’s life as a divorce with his wife Kim Kardashian is underway, the award would lighten him up and inspire him forward on his new path.
Speaking on the album, the singer said he had asked those who worked with him to abstain from premarital sex during the working period.
A big win for him despite the odds.
